We read of great politicians, great philosophers....scientists....artists....  But there are times when you can finally see and behold their work before your eyes.  The world slows for a moment, and their work suddenly becomes tangible, and it's humbling at that very second when you first stand in the presence of their great works.  Gustav Klimt's artwork gave me that moment of pause in Vienna.  What a treat.

I will forever link Vienna with the famous Lipizzan Stallions and the Spanish Riding School.  It's a 450 year Viennese institution and I'm getting chills just thinking about how magnificent it was to witness.  My watercolor rendering barely does it justice.

croatia | plitvice lakes...not the caribbean

We didn't vacate Eastern Europe and fly to the Caribbean.  Welcome to Plitvice Lakes National Park.  These lovelies are a tucked away gem smack dab in the middle of Croatia.  The colors were stunning, but so inexplicable.  You'll just have to see for yourself.
